The
1st January saw us head to Tel Aviv and Jaffa for a mornings
sightseeing. We visited the scene of former Israeli Prime Minister
Yitzhak Rabins assassination, where Tamir explained in detail the
sequence of events leading to assassination, the mistakes made by the
security services and the lessons learned. We walked around the ancient port of Jaffa and then on to bustling market in Tel Aviv where we had lunch. The tour was lead by our guide, Shalom, who's knowledge of the history of the area was impressive.
The
afternoon saw us return to the Wingate Institute where Eyal and Amnon
covered releases from attacks both standing and on the ground. During
the training sessions, the group (46 people) were split into two sub
groups depending on Krav Maga experience, and although the two groups
covered the same topics, the level of training was adjusted to suit.
