Krav Maga Scotland

Krav Maga is a fast, highly effective, reality based self defence system being taught in Scotland.

Krav Maga is extremely easy to learn as its actions are based on the body's natural defence instincts. Therefore a practitioner can expect to become proficient very quickly. The Institute of Krav Maga in Scotland runs classes across Scotland from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and more. Find out where your nearest class is.

The system has been adopted by the Israeli Defence and Security Forces and has been used in some of the most severe combat settings of this century amidst Nazi terrorism, the combat of World War II, and the extremely violent military confrontations of the Middle East.

What should I wear to a Krav Maga class?

For the IKMS classes in Scotland all you need is a T shirt, tracksuit bottoms/training trousers, and training shoes.

Regular students and Instructors wear official IKMF uniforms consisting of a black T shirt with white logos (Instructors are red), and black kickboxing type trousers with white logos (again, Instructors are red).

These are issued to each student as part of the Institute of Krav Maga in Scotlands membership package.

Wrestling/grappling boots are what most scottish students choose as footwear for training. It is not a requirement to wear official uniform, but it is recommended (it stops expensive clothing being ruined!) The uniform is available to buy in our Krav Maga shop.

"One of the best things for me is that the techniques taught are all based on real scenario's that you may come across on the streets and not fancy moves that would probably be no use if you were attacked or mugged.

 The trainers are also very good at what they do, very helpful and make the whole experience fun - also nice guys which is also a major factor in me staying on.
